There are three different reservable room options in the McConnell Library building:

The Harvey Center for Learning and Writing: Study Rooms - 12 rooms

  • Pros:
    • The greatest number of reservable rooms.
    • The Harvey Center staff ensure your reserved room is available for you. It is kept locked until you arrive.
    • Rooms are are reservable for periods that the Harvey Center is open:
      • Monday - Friday, 9am-6pm, Sunday 2pm-6pm*
      • *These rooms are available, unlocked and unreservable when the Harvey Center is closed, but the McConnell Library  building is open.
    • Rooms have LCD screens, power, and small whiteboards.
      • Dry erase markers can be checked out from the library's Front Desk at anytime the library is open.
      • Large mobile dry erase boards may be available in the adjoining Harvey Center space.
    • Rooms are in an area that may be quieter than that of the group-display work station rooms on the third floor.
    • The rooms are adjacent to the Harvey  Center with easy access to the support services provided by the Harvey Center (link opens in new window)

    • These rooms are not reservable during times that the Harvey Center is closed. The rooms are unlocked once the Harvey Center has closed for the evening and anyone can use them on a first come, first serve basis.
    • The rooms are not sound proofed and do not have ceilings. You may hear people in neighboring areas.

Group-Display Work Station Rooms - 2 rooms

    • The rooms can be reserved for anytime that McConnell library is open.
    • Walk-in impromptu reservations can be done at any time as long as a preexisting  reservation is not already in place.

      • The media:scape study stations allow a group of up to 6 people to  to  work on a project together and project it in large format on a screen. You can plug in your laptop, tablet or smartphone into the system. How do I connect my laptop to the mediascape? (link opens in new window).
        • Reservations can be made through this system if you are on-campus or using the VPN system. For information on using the VPN software choose the relevant instructions from the ITOneStop database.
      • Dry erase markers can be checked out from the library's Front Desk at anytime the library is open.
    • The rooms are close to the Research Help Desk with convenient access to McConnell Library's research help staff. Research Help Desk hours and contact information (link opens in a new window).
