All printers in McConnell Library offer black and white and color printing on 8.5 x 11 (letter-sized) paper. The library does not laminate materials or provide paper for special printing (e.g. printing on resume or cardstock paper).

If you need a project printed on special paper, contact RadfordU Printing Services. They will ensure that your print job comes out according to your assignment’s standards. They are located by the Student Outdoor Recreation Complex, several blocks from campus. Set up a time to visit them, or contact them at least a day in advance to arrange them to drop off your finished project to main campus.

Our library service desks provide basic help with printing on the letter-sized paper provided by IT, during hours. Library staff are not required to assist with printing to special paper. If you would like to try on your own, please read the following instructions carefully. Successful printing on your own may require trial and error, so plan accordingly.

Instructions for Printing:

Paper must be designated for use with laser printers: any other paper may break our printers.

  1. With document open on a public PC, go to File > Print.
  2. Select the printer you want to use.
  3. With the printer selected, click Printer Properties.
  4. Click the Paper/Quality tab. Under Paper Source choose Bypass Tray.
    • If printing on label paper, under Paper Type, choose More > Other > Labels.
    • If printing double-sided, click the Finishing tab and check off “Print on both sides.”
  5. Click OK, then click Print.
  6. Go to the printer. Load the Bypass tray on the side of the printer with your paper.
  7. On the printer panel, select Check Status near the red light.
  8. On the printer panel, to the right of "Printer: Error occurred", select Check.
  9. Select the Bypass Tray.
  10. After completion, remove your paper from the bypass tray.

The Teaching Resource Center in Peters Hall has a laminator available for students to use as well as a die-cut machine.

The Club Hub in The Bonnie Hurlburt Center offers printing for clubs and organizations.
