The Assistive Technology Room is on level 3 and contains equipment and tools to help patrons with disabilities use library materials.

There are two computers located in the Assistive Technology Room: 

  • PC computer workstation 
    • monitor with adjustable arms
    • located on motorized, adjustable table
    • Runs the software JAWS, Kurzweil, and Dragon Naturally Speaking
    • Attached scanner to use with Kurzweil software.
  • Mac computer workstation
    • monitor with adjustable arms
    • located on motorized, adjustable table
    • 27" computer screen
    • Magnification and screen reading accessibility tools
    • Noise-cancelling headphones
    • Full-spectrum lighting
    • TeleSensory magnifier

The room may be used by walk-in patrons, or can be booked in advance by contacting the library’s Front Desk at (540) 831-5364 or frontdesk@radford.edu. It is available for use anytime the library is open.
