Research Help Desk Policy
The Research Help Desk provides research assistance that supports the library’s mission to invite and inspire learning, intellectual and artistic creativity, and the free and open exploration of ideas.
In order to provide our patrons with an excellent Research Help Desk experience we have created a Research Help Desk policy that delineates the services we will provide, may provide and those that we do not provide in the three respective tabs in our Research Help Desk Policy LibGuide. It also outlines what different patron groups can expect
- Radford University faculty and students- Priority is given to supporting the academic research needs and student success of Radford University’s community. Faculty may wish to view our policy on faculty research assistance.
- Public patrons– while we are happy to assist our public patrons with their research needs, our assistance prioritizes the needs of Radford University students and faculty. Public patrons with a high volume of non-academic research requests may find that they are better served by the Radford Public Library.
Research Help Desk staff
- Our staff are made up of librarians, graduate assistants and student assistants. Only our librarians are trained to be able to perform our full listing of services. Graduate assistants and student assistants may need to refer complex questions to a librarian.
