One option is LexisNexis. This database provides selected sources of quality statistical information about small, private companies, often local or regional, such as BTs, Cook Cleaners, Macados, etc. You can also find information on all businesses in a specific industry in the region.
In the "Get Company Info." box at the bottom right, click on the arrow. Either enter in the name of the business: however, this sometimes brings back national listings for other businesses of the same name. Click on "Company Dossier" link to focus geographically.
Make sure you are in the "Find a Company" tab
You can search for a specific company using the "Find a Company", and create a list of regional companies/competitors using "Create a Company List".
For example, you can search for a company by typing in it's name in the "Find a Company" option. From the "Regions/Countries" menu, select "United States". From the "States/Provinces" menu, select "Virginia". In the "Cities" box, type "Radford", or leave this blank.
